What began as a single seed planted in a heart committed to prayer and believing God for the impossible, Heart of God in Uganda has grown to impact a nation. As Executive Director, Denise Matthews has led this ministry through sacrifice, dedication, and faith in God to do what He promised He would do—use those yielded to Him to accomplish His purpose in Uganda today.
The Uganda 2009 Outreach was a tremendous success to the glory of God. Since the trip, an amazing flurry of activity has confirmed the need to expand the emphasis of the ministry to Uganda as well as increase the size of the ministry team in order to accomplish our goals.
As the Lord has continued to open doors and reveal the need for a much broader emphasis of ministry, plans are developing to include in the following outreaches:
Men's Conference: Teaching Pastors, Christian leaders and men in the direction of Gods purpose for their roles in the church, in the family, in their community, and in their personal life.
Teacher’s Conference: Qualified Teachers will be leading workshops and training sessions targeting various topics, giving useful tools for implementing new ideas and proven techniques for successful classroom instruction.
Village Ministry: Men will accompany local Pastors into villages where the Gospel has not been preached.
Youth Rally: A day designed to lift up and encourage Uganda’s teens through praise & worship, testimonies, games, food, and fun.
Well Digging: A team of men is needed to help dig a well in a village where no clean water is available and where dysentery frequently robs infants and children of life.
Children’s Ministry: Taking every opportunity to minister to the children at Smile Africa Ministries and other local groups, showing them the love of Jesus Christ through hands-on ministry to their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Medical Ministry: Men and women are needed to assist with basic medical treatments at Smile Africa Ministries clinic.
Eligibility: We welcome any believer in Jesus Christ to join the Uganda 2010 Team. Each team member will be required to obtain both pastoral and personal references. Teens aged 13-17 are more than welcome as long as a parent or guardian travels with them. We are looking for men, women, and teens to complete the 2010 Team.
